Discussion: Trample surface and backfill of building 77 space 337. covers a dividing wall (internal), this is most likley due to disturbance from a later pit cut (16471) 

 

Recognition: colour and texture very compact defined by walls 

Definition: contained by walls of building 77 exterior covers internal walls 

Execution: mattocks and trowel excavated 

Condition: hot, dry 

Consistency: firm - well compacted 

Colour: mid greyish brown 

Texture: slightly clay silt with ash lenses 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional animal bones - moderate charcoal lumps, very occassional pottery and one gun shell casing fom modern disturbance 

Post-depositional Features: modern diturbance 4040 tent plate 

Basal Boundary: clear
