Dimensions: Up to 1cm thick. 

Discussion: Mixed deposit make-up and utilised as a surface which abutts oven F2639 in it's primary/early phases. At the north it appears quite well prepared, but less so at the south and west where it is thicker and more mixed, probably counteracting the slump in that direction. 

Recognition: Colour, level. 

Definition: Good at north less at south. 

Execution: Trowel. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: Compact. 

Colour: Light grey to light yellow brown. 

Texture: Silty clay. 

Bedding: Compound. 

Inclusions: Occ. Bone, pot and mudbrick fragments.
