Discussion: Removal of first courses of wall 73 to minimise subsidence over the coming years ( Max. depth c.0.70cm). Excavation showed (as in section) the N-S section of the wall to be continuos with that running from W-E and the bricks appeared to interdigitate at the corner. At the level at which we ended, a layer of plaster was revealed in the northern surface of the E- W section of the wall which will be investigated further next year... The fills associated with the N & W facing sections of this wall were sieved separately (1674- N facing/1676 W facing) for comparison.
