Discussion: the 'upper' face of this wall was heavily plastered multiole layers of coarse plaster with lots of organic temper. Very different appearance to normal wall plaster . First plaster on this wall is a thick render with lots of organic inclusions. Plaster sampled as <03> render/first plastering sampled as <04>. One layer of plaster was painted yellow and sampled as <05>.
'lower' face also plastered but with single course thick layer of plaster, very different to other side of wall.

Consistency: firm and friable
Colour: burnt red brown brick, pale yello brown mortar
Texture: mudbrick, plaster, and mortar. also white plaster with some yellow pigment
