Interpretive Categories: Plastered podium on W side of Sp135 

 

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building

 

Description: Light gray/ white plaster on dark grey mudbrick (visible where plaster is eroded at S end) 

 

Discussion: podium built onto w wall of building 80. Purpose unclear, may form part of an earlier building or be structural support for wall 5036. Last plastering seems to have occurred before laying of floor/make up 19186 as plaster on edge of 19199 is visible lipping onto the deposit below. 

 

Consistency: Compact un the south, firm to the north 

Colour: White/Grey 

Texture: Silty-clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: none 

Post-depositional Features: truncatoin by pit 

Basal Boundary: clear, constructional. Smooth form and surface, prominent constrast
