Description: mortar within the eastern wall of B.77

Discussion: Mortar (U.19553) was associated with bricks U.19552 and they altogether constituted the eastern wall (F.3094) of B.77. It was possible to record 11-12 layers of the mortar within the mentioned wall. Worth noticing is the fact that the prepared paste comprised of the pure clay without the temper or any inclusions. The latter caused eventually appearance of relatively wide vertical cracks that emerged as a result of conflagration that occured within the interior of the B.77. Hence, in the upper part of the wall which effected the most high temperature, the mortar was compact and baked - like pottery. Described material used to join the bricks varied in their thickness reaching in average 5-8cm. Within the whole structure of the wall there was one irregularity recorded that was located in the southern part of the feature. The latter disorder had been expressed by concave lines of mortar in mentioned segment.
