Unit 19662

Area: South
Interpretive Categories: central floormakeup
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Material: pise-like
Dimensions: 2.45 x 2.85 x .03-.04 m
Discussion: In SE corner above a spread of dirty (phytolith-rich S3) stuff that hadn't been cleaned when makeup layer laid down. Unit is compact, ashy/silty grey silty clay layer in central section of building 97. Due to the location firmness and mixy composition (lots of charcoal) of the layer, it is possible that the layer represents a kind of packing layer or makeup layer for later floor levels. This layer is abutted by the platforms and a bench feature in the east end and two burial truncations and a Mellaart trench truncation in the north and the layer also appears to be lapping up against f. 3527, the timber partition in the west. There appear to be more iterations of plaster floors below.
