Discussion: This layer represents the extremely burnt mud brick of wall f. 3933. We excavated it to preserve the rest of the NE corner of this trench in the off season. It was extremely dry and crumbly, but surprisingly contained a few finds-- some bone and pottery. 

 

Recognition: obvious: pink burned mud-brick of a wall

Condition: hot, shaded 

Consistency: loose, dry, extremely crumbled 

Colour: mostly red, with pink, gray, and black portions 

Texture: dry, burned mud brick 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: bone, pottery 

Post-depositional Features: fire 

Basal Boundary: arbitrary
