Discussion: This unit was identified as distinct from the makeup being removed in u.20822. It was concentrated toward the northern area of the platform and sloped downward from a central point -- perhaps dumped on top of the platform to level it out. Unlike the grey-brown makeup above it, this layer was made up of almost 50% lumps of plaster mixed with orange clay as well as makeup. Removing this layer brought the platform down to the same thin brown makeup layer (u.20829) found underneath parts of u.20822. 

Consistency: strong/compact 

Colour: beige (plaster) and grey-brown (makeup) 

Texture: silt/plaster 

Bedding: compound layered 

Inclusions: plaster 50%, clay 10%, coal 2% 

Post-depositional Features: probable trampling 

Basal Boundary: sharp, the plaster-heavy matrix of this layer was distinct from the thin layer of light brown makeup underneath
