Discussion: That was a burnt layer in NW part of the Trench 4. Originally it seemed that this layer extended more to the East side. But during the exploration it appeared that they are two separate units. The sketch plan show our previous assumption. From this layer there were taken six samples of charcoals. Five of them were just burnt reeds. After analysis of them it appeared that they are a part of mat. But one was a fragment of burnt oak (S5). In their N part this burnt layer was partially laying above surface of midden, because of that in some parts was hard to distinguish.
