Unit 21327
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: remains of f1484 after erosion
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: floor (packing only); Material: plaster; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: F1484 was previoulsy described as a platform in 2006, but plaster remains against the wall seem more likely to have belonged to a floor than to a platform.
U.21327 was excavated until a make up material believed to be part of infill u.30539 gradually appeared beneath the surface.
Although f1484 was heavely eroded at the time of excavation, there appears to have been at least 3 layers of plaster + make up covering a slightly thicker make up layer.
Consistency: friable top 1 cm, else firm
Colour: medium brown "platform" area + dark brown make up ; tan plaster + brown make up "floor"
Texture: silty clay
Bedding: compound layered "platform" + make up ; layered floor, plaster and make up layers
Inclusions: plaster nodules in make up, medium and small 20%
Post-depositional Features: minor roots disturbance
Basal Boundary: constructional, gradual appearance of floor make up material below "platform"
