Unit 21878
Category: Layer dug in 2017

Interpretive Categories: Oven superstructure
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: brick&mortar; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit belongs to the oven superstructure for the F579 and had been exposed since the ’90, so was very damage and truncated. The superstructure was defined for a line of light orange clay around 0.12 cm plastered inside, at least two or three times. The space between this line and the east wall of the B-17 was filled with ruble and plastered on the top, defining a flat surface, a kind of shelf. Just above of this flat plastered surface in the eastern wall (F567) a little niche/shelf was defined (F8046) and maybe can be related with this oven.
This oven was also partially build inside the north wall of the building where seems that was partially cut.
This oven is very similar to the oven F8061 excavated also in a NE corner of the building 161.
