Discussion: This layer was interpreted as a "dirty floor", a definition here used to indicate a working surface, characterized by a composition different by the floors next to the hearth, usually rich of ashes and charcoals. On the top of this layer there aren't markers of cooking activites, but its many inclusions suggest working actions, probably connected to the preparation of the food (the layer is cut by u30951, the pit where was allocated the quern stone, cluster u30945=30944). The layer is located on top of the raised area (working platform), on the west side of the hearth. The layer is characterized by remarcable thickness in the the central part, and it is above the internal structure of the working platform (u21953): it is probable that the layer had the double function as a working floor on the bottom and as a structural layer for the depth, functional to fill the internal part of the working platform.
