Discussion: U. 22405 is a compound dirty floor/makeup layer on the sunken floor. The southernmost portions of the unit are very loose and friable, easily removable by trowel. The northern half of the unit is more compact, with a lot of varied microlayers. In the Northeast corner of the floor by the bench, there is a fairly prominent microlayer of eroded plaster, similar to the layer removed in U. 22403. This layer demonstrates similar properties to U.22403, as well as reaffirming our knowledge of the connection between plaster layers on the bench that continue onto the sunken floor. We were confident removing this layer as a part of the dirty floor because of the understanding we gained from U. 22403. Excavation of U.22405 revealed a prominent and smooth basal boundary beneath, which appears to be a part of a single constructional event. Various inclusions of plaster, charcoal, ash, and clay were removed with the unit. A small piece of obsidian was the only notable find.
