Discussion: Layer which was insisting between the roof and the N wall. It covers large portions of plaster and an internal thin wall which runs N-S.
11.08.98 Bone point (?was this not an Xfind or is it referring to X.3 the bone ring frag?-AMV 6/99) was found in soil that was removed and sieved from the area below where the microexcavation sample (of unit 2238) was taken.

Unit description: F1 is the tip end of a bone point, modern break. X3 is a ring fragment. LY 2001 Small-medium unit, F1 and X3 have already been recorded and are a bone point and ring fragment respectively. X2 (recorded as X2 and F61-F73) is a relatively complete skeleton of a neonatal dog (mainly the rear half). Overall the bone is moderately fragmented, burnt and digested bone are rare. Most of the material comes from 03 sized animals. One fragment was also present in the dry sieve material. 4mm flotation samples 2 and 3 were recorded for diagnostics only.
