Discussion: Following the intended excavation of floor u22765 it was noticed that the rubble foundation layer u22758 extended northwards approximately 50% into the building so this unit 22767 was opened and using a hand mattock was excavated and sieved. This split the floor into two separate units and the intention being to mattock out the rubble of this unit and subsequently hand trowel the brick and floor layer in the northern half of the building 133. 

 

Consistency: Strong, compact 

Colour: Orange, grey and red and black inclusions 

Texture: Mostly brick and stone rubble 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: Some bone (animal) mostly brick and stone rubble 

Post-depositional Features: some voids both animal burrows and roots, some burning 

Basal Boundary: Constructional
