Description: The baby burial in a basket is found in the very SW corner of the 3 x 4 m trench, plotted within space 620. The Eastern part of the basket and pit cut was within the trench; the trench was extended to the West so that the entire basket and burial could be excavated.
Discussion: It is a premature baby buried in a basket. There are no inclusions with the burial. No skeletal pathology is evident. The baby is estimated to be female. The lid of the basket had collapsed on to the baby. The age at death is approximately 32-34 weeks (about 8 months gestation). This gestation age is too young to be viable at birth.
