Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: pise-like; Deposition: heterogeneous
Description: U23440 is the structual material of Bench F2184, which separates the southern Platform F7637, from the northern Platform F7638, in western Building 52, space 94. Bench F2184 was built directly on a wall underneath which was revealed after the completion of the excavation of these two platforms.
Discussion: U23440 was made of pise-like material and was coated with lime-plaster (U23441). It was well made with massive structure, very compact and hard to excavate. Within western space 94, it raised the height of the wall underneath by about 20cm and must have served as a bench for sitting or material display at Platforms F7637 and F7638.
