Discussion: This deposit is basically rubified oven base and probably the same event as overlying (2379). however (2379) was the baked crust of the oven base lining whilst (2381) is material scorched through.

Colour: 10 YR 4/1 dark grey 

Texture: fine silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 20% >3mm phytoliths

Basal Boundary: natural burnt horizon, clear in most parts but diffuse in others as shares characteristics with underlying deposit
