Discussion: Two obsidian blanks were found at the interface of the pit fill and overlying floor. Not clear which deposit they are associated with, therefore allocated a cluster.

This deposit is fill within pit containing obsidian cache 2812. This cut was not defined until layer 2805 was partially excavated when it was realised the floors had all been excavated. During excavation it was 90 % certain that this pit was sealed by the earliest floor because of the poor condition of the layers in this building, there is that element of doubt, i.e. that the pit may have been cut from a later floor.
Generally this fill was very compact and again due to general weather, the sides were hard to define due to root activity hence ca 2 % of this fill may be overdug. Some of the fill appears to have been derived from surrounding room infill, i.e. the deposit it cuts

Finds Room Information:

All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
