Discussion: Small area of broken up material identical in colour and texture to lining of oven, lying on floor and against the wall but below the apparent deliberate backfill (2852), so interpret as some collapse that took place at the end of the use of oven, immediately prior to the backfilling.
Recognition: Recognised on excavation of S wall of (2852), same pale reddish colour as lining material (2851) and (2860).
Definition: Well defined, different colour to (2852) and not cohesive and vertical like the oven wall lining (2860) that it is resting against.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry. Dry and Sunny.
Consistency: loose
Colour: 7.5 YR 6/4 light brown (dry) and 7.5 YR 3/2 dark brown (dry)
