Unit 30278
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: wall of the oven
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: brick
Discussion: The oven wall which was partially exposed in the NW part of Trench 2.
It was composed of a quite thick brick layer (especially thick in the E part) and its internal part was covered from the middle to the bottom by thin layer of white plaster, burnt and rough. The S edge of the wall was not recognized as it was truncated by later occupational activity. The N and NE part of the feature is much thinner and destroyed partially due to the destruction following exposure after the last year's season.
The oven's superstructure is high, up to 1.30 m. Hovewer it is also sloping down, to the interior of the oven, so at the bottom the oven was not wide.
A few interesting x-finds was found put in the wall (mini clayball, worked stone and some kind of stone tool).
