Discussion: This is an easily distinguishable unit because of its location in the eastern niche (F. 1865), its colour and consistency. It consisted of 2 layers: floor and make up. The layers were placed directly under the red plaster layer.
Basal boundary of this unit is very distinct and smooth. It seems that this unit was the first phase of the usage of the niche. For now there are no traces of floor under excavated unit. 

Consistency: friable to firm 

Colour: mid brown, mid grey 

Texture: silty, silty clay 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: red pigment (2%) 

Post-depositional Features: none 

Basal Boundary: distinct, smooth, clear
