Unit 30318
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: compound layer of make up and floor, mixed fill of a platform
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This is an easily distinguishable unit due to its location on the platform F.1851, its dark colour and consistency. It consisted of fine layer of thick make up and patchy floor located on the make up. The layer has been badly eroded especially in the SW edge because of long exposition to weather conditions since the 1960's. Its basal boundary has been easily recognized.
It seems that this layer was one of the lowest layer which covered this platform. Upper sequence of floors and make ups had been explored by J. Mellaart in the 1960's. I assume this was because of the niche (F. 1865) which had been covered with plasters simultaneously with the platform.
