Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: plaster; Deposition: layered (wall plaster); Basal Spit: unpainted
Description: Plaster on wall and post F2172.
Discussion: Plaster layer identified as a separate unit since ridge U22297 was removed, revealing clearly where the floor plaster had gone up on the wall F2106 and post F2172. The plaster layer was possible to follow almost all the way across to bench F2184, but there was a gap, where it was a bit difficult to say for sure where which plaster layer ended. The plaster on both sides of the gap are, however to much alike to be considered separate units.
Just above bench F2184 A piece of bone and two obsidian flakes were removed with the plaster, seemingly put there as the plaster was applied. The significance for this is difficult to figure out in field, but it is clear that they don't fill an architectural purpose. Discussion with Jesse from faunal and Sean Doyle from obsidian made it clear that none of the objects are worked in themselves. They are not tools themselves, but are likely debris from tool production.
