Area: South
Interpretive Categories: moulding,wall collapse
Data Category Information: In Situ: non in-situ; Location: feature; Description: moulding; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: The heavy chalk contents of the soils make them more likely to be moulding elementy than bricks. There is plaster on the N face at the top which also suggests a moulding. It does not appear to be attached to the W wall, nor to the main lump of moulding adjacent to to it.
Still not clear whether or not this is a part of F.279! Hoever, it seems most likely that it is, the W end of (3150) was taken off later as (3935) and the plaster to N of (3150) is also visible on the lower N edge of (3935), and the whole appears to be linked in by an outer western plaster which is still in situ, to be investigated further next year (1999) but is part of plaster (3957).
Recognition: Orange brown curved thing to N of crawl hole. Clear in plan, less so in elevation.
