Discussion: - Unit 31570 was assigned to a hard baked base of the oven U.7854 which was set partially within the S-wall (F.3679) of Sp.531. The base acted as an original surface of the mentioned fire installation where the fuel had been put. The effects of the doings were easily recorded by the evidence of the high temperature impact, that caused backing the clay used as the constructional material. Closer examination of the latter gave an impression that the clayish-paste employed for the purpose was tempered with high proportion of organic material (chaff), whose remains survived as an impression of straw or hay blades.
The ovoid base was placed only 11 cm within intra-wall incise, set under the domed part of the oven. The whole unit measured 74cm (NS) x 56cm (EW). The mentioned ovoid shape was distracted a little by wider extent in S-part of the base which narrowed in its N-segment, where the opening of the fire installation probably was placed.
The evidenced single base without any parallel counterparts placed below, might indicate that the oven (F.7854) had functioned some time as an intensively used fire installation within B.132. However, its biography related (particularly with encircled superstructure U. 31569 as well as) with the last occupational phase, probably cannot be regarded as long one, due to lack of others bases indicating the need of Feature’s re-surfacing or re-introduction.
