Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: niche; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Infill U.32006 had been recorded within intra-wall part of the Niche F.7855 which resemblanced a back-side of doomed oven. Judging by the on-site observations it is clear that before inhabitants arranged the Niche in presented spot there was an oven placed in the wall. Hence, the domed-like part of the niche was used easily for new purposes.
The deposit covered all the intra-wall sector of the mentioned niche which was incised in the S-wall (F.3679) of B.132. One may state that the infill composed of the same material as had been evidenced in 2015 while exploration of the room-fills U.21654 and 21670 which sealed whole the interior of Sp.531.The deposit U.32006 had been left arbitrarily last year to prevent the domed-construction and the wall F.3679 against falling down during winter season. The excavation of the unit was conducted in order to identify the whole extent of the niche as a one of the youngest furniture evidenced within the Sp.531. The infill comprised of broken fragments of grey bricks, fragments of plastered elements which were immersed within sandy-silt sediment, that most plausibly accumulated in the presented spot during the process of sealing the entire main room of B.132. It appeared that below the described infill there was a small fragment of dirty floor-like layer (U.32008) which might be evidence of a nature of activities that took place in the niche. Recorded materials and composition of the infill U.32006 imply that domed part of the niche was left to be covered afterwards by the room-fill. One must be emphasized here that there was no any blocking within the dome which again indicate using the feature till the very end of occupation phase of the room.
