This unit was given a separate unit number to distinguish it from (3265) as before excavation it appeared that there was a plaster floor below. This was actually plaster lumps in the fill, so this unit is the same as (3265).

Condition: Normal.
Consistency: compact but friable when crushed
Colour: patchy 10 YR 5/6 yellowish brown, also 7.5 YR 6/8 reddish yellow/7.5 YR 5/2 very dark brown
Texture: varies, slightly ashy silty clay also sandy patches
Bedding: layered
Inclusions: hard clay lumps (possibly mortar?) 5% 5 to 15 mm lumps; charcoal frags 40% size varies 5 mm to 60-70 mm
Post-depositional Features: salt deposits, few roots
Basal Boundary: anthropogenic/diffuse/contrast visible/irregular form/surface pitted
