Unit 32764
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: dirty floors layer
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: multiple
Discussion: The layer U.32764 refers to the group of multi-laminated dirty floors situated in the South-Eastern part of the Sp.531. The floors had been recorded below their counterpart assigned under the separate unit No. 32707. The division between the two mentioned strata was based on the identification of the sequences related with the use of the constructions/rims of the Hearth F.8327 as well as corresponded (stratigraphicaly) constructions of the Oven F.7732. As such the accumulation and deposition of the dirty floors U.32764 must be regarded contemporary with the use of the Hearth – U.32769 and the Oven – U.32756.
The densely packed layers of the dirt characterized by the lack of plastered laminations. Sometimes between several layers of the ashy-dirt there had been recorded a discontinued surface of orange-clay.
The excavation of the floors had been conducted by the use of the GRID. The main axis of the Grid was established along Southern wall (F.3679) of the building, whose EW alignment positioned the further division of the room.
The sampling process relayed in collecting two samples from each of 1m x 1m square. One of the sample was taken specifically for Phytolith analyzes and it was recorded with ODD digit number: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15. All of the rest part of the explored sediment within squared meter had been taken as flotation sample, enumerated conventionally by EVEN digit number: 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, 16. Sample 6 was collected as flotation sample separately due to recognition the layer of the dirty floors under the plaster 32783 below further extension of the Bench 7879. The Sample 17 refers to the routine archive one, and Sample 18 was additional sample taken due to recognition a fragment of potential pigment next to the oven F.7732.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
