Unit 32863
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: plaster and makeup on platform
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: multiple
Discussion: The layer upon closer inspection was identified as at least two layers of platform. Part of the unit was mistakenly excavated together with overlying fill U32819. The unit was rather badly preserved and the layers composing it were quite patchy. Nevertheless there were definitely plaster layers sloping slightly towards NW covering most probably a platform Feature 8697. Since the middle and NE part were removed anyway It has been decided that the NW part of the unit abutting the platform F8695 should be excavated in order to better understand the relations of Features found in SW part of the space 562.
Consistency: Friable at the top, firm towards the bottom
Colour: 2 thin layers of patchy light grey plaster with 2 layers of 2-3cm thick midle to dark brownish grey mortar in between them
Texture: silty clay
Bedding: layered (see colour)
Inclusions: few balck and white specs, and lumps od plaster in the mortar
