Discussion: (3338) represents a layer of plaster on the surface of wall [278]. It may once have covered the upper courses of this wall, but this was not evident on excavation. It also did not seem to extend beneath the extent that was excavated. There were fairly distinctive 'ribs' of plaster forming two parallel lines that ran horizontally across the wall surface (see sketch). These might have been unintended undulations on the wall surface, or the product of post-depositional factors. However, observations have been made of similar details on plaster elsewhere in the Mellaart area and it might have been an intentional wall feature. To the Eastern end the plaster curved slightly over the surface of N-S running wall [281] but ended here more definitely suggesting that this wall was not [plastered, although it seems to have been bonded to [278], but this is hard to prove.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
