Recognition: Partly arbitrary but distinguished from 3460 to the east and to the east of NS running mudbrick wall and 3470 to the west 

Definition: Defined by the eastern side of mudbrick wall 

Execution: Trowel and hand shovel 

Condition: Dry and very dusty 

Consistency: Very compact 

Colour: Mid orange brown (Munsell - 2.5YR 4/3 olive brown) 

Texture: Silty sandy clay (65% silt, 25% sand, 10% clay) 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Occasional charcoal flecks (ca. 0.5 - 1%) and white phytolith - white specks (1 - 2%). Large sherds of pottery lying horizontally and angled on to the layer. Very little obsidian and animal bone (<0.5%). Much mudbrick inclusions - collapsed mudbrick - 5 - 8%.
