Unit 3477
Category: layer dug in 2000
Area: Trench I
Interpretive Categories: Arbitrary layer
Data Category Information: Description: arbitrary allocation for samples
Discussion: This layer was actually meant to be excavated starting from the south edge right up from the wall. But because of the differences between the levels of the north and south parts, we decided to start digging from the middle towards the north to level the area. As we continued on excavating we a noticed a difference in the soil and found some traces of a burnt area that may as well have been a hearth. So we stopped excavating and gave the north area another unit number.
While scraping the north of the area a big piece of in situ mudbrick was found - there might be another lump right across. The soil was generally homogeneous but there were lumps of mudbrick and clayey stuff.
