Unit 3843
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: collapse,infilling
Data Category Information: In Situ: non in-situ; Location: building; Material: brick&mortar; Deposition: heterogeneous
Dimensions: 40 N-S x 100 W-E x 5 cm
Discussion: Dark grey coloured clay lumps situated on the SW and SE corner of space 155. The cluster of clay lumps goes against the wall. That must be part of the infill, it contains some charcoal and plaster remains (charred) mixed up with reddish plastery reddish coloured building debris. However, its texture and colour suggest similar raw material to the MB's of the wall. If it is not deposited here by the process of infill, then maybe those clay lumps were deliberately brought here?
Possibly some form of collapse during infilling (CC).
