Unit 4490
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: South
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 4.60m EW, 0.10m NS
Discussion: The fill comes over the southern face of wall 503 and 497. Due to see the southern face of wall 503, it needs to be cleaned. After that, if we can not see any wall face yet, we will continue to excavate a bit more. We are expecting to see the highest level of truncated or collapsed wall 497 and south face and the bottom of wall 503.
Recognition: The deposit recognized by its crubly texture and yellowish colour and it seems as it has many different type of material.
Definition: It is not clear but the deposit covers the continiuation of the mud-brick courses of the wall 497.
Execution: Trowel-handpick
Condition: Dry and powdery, sometimes sticky.
Consistency: From soft and powdery to Firm.
Colour: Reddish dark brown mottled.
