Unit 6239

Category: layer    dug in 1999

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: basket

Dimensions: 22 x 12 cm Z:1012.0

Discussion: This unit comprises a basket , possibly lid of basket. The basket is located at the ceiling of the burial pit. The burial pit is bell shape and in the E direction the undercut wholes the floor is the largest. In this area of the undercut or what appears like a ceiling is the basket attached to the grayish-ashy deposits. The layer of the gray-ashy deposits is not very thick. Immediately under it is a thick layer of brown deposits mixed with white plaster that the floor is made of. The layers of plaster and clay are not regular, they seem to be lumpy (see detail drawing).

In the collapse of platform floor the basket remains stayed attached to the "ceiling" and in one piece. Taken to the conservation lab to be treated on August 2, 1999.
