Unit 6254
Category: layer dug in 2000
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: 3rd & 4th platform floors & packing
Discussion: Photo: 2000T2.00-07 Slide: 2000T500.16-18
Floor of this unit is one floor below the floor of 6253 and 6255 so well as one floor below the burial cut. This floor is the same level as 6256 and 6257. In the removal of the packing, the floor at the same level of the burial was removed as we stayed at the same floor level at 6256 & 6257. This turned out to be deeper than the level of the burial cut in this unit. The western tip of the platform has dark brown floor layers and steeply rises to from a distinct edge to the platform. This edge was difficult to define however, since there seemed to be layers of the same color but different texture on top of each other. The southern edge of the unit (adjacent to 6353) was also difficult to define since this was probably the area of the platform extension. A clear profile of these floors and the burial cut was attained on the southeastern aspect since this unit was one floor below 6355.
Recognition: different texture & color from platfom floor underneath
Definition: clearly defined except at southern edge adjacent to 6253.
