Between E edge of F 169 and SE baulk fire installation, probably oven ( F 613) was uncovered last year. This unit continued work on it, removeing the topmost layer of oven base. This light brown deposit was esasily separarted from the underlying patches of black ( 10YR 2/1) soil which represents the lower unit. Whole unit was sprinkled with abunant inclusions of siliceous plant remains, charcoal and some ash.
Digging this unit, shape of oven comes apparent. It is roughly circular ( less ellipsoid than appears on scetches), shape delimited by a brown burnt line. Also, it appears that a row of circular stakeholes to the N is some 35-45 cm distant from the egde of the oven, with only few stakeholes closer to the oven. This raises the issue of phasing further, esp. of the relation of the oven and the surrounding orange soil (packing under floor) and floor patches.
