House fill that surrounded the screen wall plaster. (f. 601)
This fill was left in the front of the screen wall in two places as two pilasters. Their function was to keep the plasters of the screen wall from collapsing. The surrounding deposits are fill layers that started on top floor underneath the F. 155 and which run all the way down to the house floor F. 606. That is, once we removed F. 155, the plaster disc which fell of the screen wall, we started leaving the layers of the house fill in the two places to hold the thin skin of plaster which comprises the screen wall. These provisional pillares are different from the proper screen wall pillars i.e. F. 156 and 164. The layers of the house fill mentionned here are contemporary with the roof remains and the fill under the roof and on the floor.
I am removinf these layers all as one unit since otherwhise I would have to create arbitrary layers and there is no reason for it. Therefore the soil description is not applicable. Also, no sampling.
