Unit 6633

Category: layer    dug in 2000

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: burial fill

Dimensions: 0.14 (NS) x 0.64 (EW) m

Discussion: Burial fill was removed unitl human bones were encountered. Most of the unit was in the northern area; a small amount of burial fill came from the southern area. These areas were sammpled separately (S1-S5 came from the northern area; S6 from the southern). The southern edge of the burial cut was clearly defined and corresponded to the packing (#1) in the SW of the previous burial llid units. Te packing from the SE corner corrsponded to unit 603 of feature 644. The soil from the northern area became softer and loser the deeper I excavated, including a greater abundance of charcoal and ash in the basal layer.
