Unit 11108
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: mortar
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: mortar
Dimensions: 30cm EW x 280 cm NS
Discussion: This layer was most likely used as packing between two buidings. After cutting a foundation trench, before laying down mud brick and mortar, the builders used this ashy material as a packing/ supprt only at the eastern wall. I don’t know why this packing material was used only to the east but it may have been because of the dıfferent elevation levels.
Depth and volume estimated in PX. Unclear how much of this unit (if any) was dry sieved (DE 2009)
