Discussion: Room fill left of W. facing wall of house VII: 12 by Mellaart and truncated by him. Originally sketched as above, then S. end (of which very little remained) was taken off with it, so it extended to 356cm although only as a stain on the wall. The south part was much more humpy and clayey. Came down onto fugitive floors truncated by pit, so relationship with the plaster lining ('the gap') was still unclear. The plaster lining the south end of the 'gap' was not visible, but the plastered feature to the south of it has appeared - probably the pillar mentioned by Mellaart. At the base of this pillar is clay.
