Discussion: Room fill in Space 449. Located below the cluster with room fill 15160, unit 15180 kept in containing beautiful and exceptional finds. In the upper part, a large concentration of worked bone and pottery (especially large sherds) could be noticed. This composition changed somewhat in the last 15cm. Then, the finds in the room fill were mainly ground stone and large lumps of dark burnt soil showed up, as well as large amounts of collapsed wall plaster. The NE corner contained an antler of a red deer and the horn core of a goat, surrounded by a flint core, a pottery cluster and a beautiful, slightly convexe shaped bone stick which is painted red. The layer part also contained several clay balls, and it turned out that unit 15180 end with s huge cluster of clay ball (15343).
The soil of the lower part of this unit appeared much more yellowish, apparently containing more clay. In comparison to the clustering of small finds along F.5057, 3333, 3324, 3326, the centre of the unit seems to be quite "empty". The soil there seems to contain more sand.
Note on x-finds: X.66-72 were prepared for being x-find-numbers of clay balls, but never actually assigned to a fins, because we decided to give them a cluster number (15343) and expose the head of clay balls. No finds for x.66-72.
NOTE THAT ALL COORDS TAKEN ON 18.8. WITH THE TOTAL STATION ARE INCORRECT - THIS CONCERNS 151980.x56-65. WILL BE FIXED, INSCHA'ALLAH.
