Discussion: The layer was incredibly soft and silty lacking the fragment chunks of burnt brick in [16479]. The upepr most part of this layer was removed when the horn core (X1 of 16749) was removed. The layer sealed an ashy layer that is right on top of the platform, the peas are likely from this layer.

Consistency: loose 

Colour: dark brown 

Texture: silty 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional animal bone, very occasional stone, shell, peas 

Post-depositional Features: root action and animal borrows 

Basal Boundary: clear onto rich ashy layer which the peas likely came from
