Discussion: Removal of pedestal of material and base of fill of foundation cut for wall 1518. It became apparent that cut was less extensive than 1671 (see sheet 1672) and didn't run to east side . The DS sample therefore contains soil from the over lying area but the flotation sample is critical to the cut itself.

Colour: 2.5y 5/3 light olive brown- 10yr 4/3 dark greenish brown 

Texture: silty clay loam

Inclusions: <5% charcoal <30mm, <2% plaster lumps <40mm , clay fragments, <1% phytoliths
