Discussion: Mortar in mudbrick wall F.5057, the eastern wall of space 341.

2012: During the 2012 season we recognised that buttress F.5057 is a construction phase on top of the older phase F.3372. The dark mortar of F.5057 was the main factor in recognising the phasing. One layer of mortar was preserved, which runs from F.5056 through F.5057 into F.3333, but stops here because most of F.3333 is not preserved high enough. Presumably the layer was applied directly on the top of the older walls. Most of this was removed with U.16869 before the phasing was recognised.
