Discussion: This unit was already found in 2011 and now it was intended to be removed. U.16974 is located within Building 98 along with other three similar units i.e. buttresses. Its removal started with chopping frontal part up ot its back. As it was consisted of filling diverse material was found within (pottery, bones, obsidia blades, figurine). There was possibly late Neolithic pottery suggesting the origin of such filling material from East Mound. The removal of this buttress went down to possible different level indicated by remains of plaster. Anyway the scraping and cleaning of this supposed level confirmed no presence of an earlier phase. For any case a new unit will be opened at this very bottom of buttress in roder the foundation construction to be determined and its relationship with the floor of B.98.
