Discussion: It was a retaining wall built against the norhtern edge of the wall of W-E alignment (17693). It consisted of 3 courses of bricks. The bricks were more grayish and solid than the mudbricks of the wall 17673. The preserved dimensions of the bricks are as follows (from the west):

upper course:

1.0.62 x 0.13 x 0.08
2. 0.59 x 0.15 x 0.03
3. 0.62 x 0.10 x 0.09
4. 0.56 x 0.15 x 0.12
5. 0.62 x 0.14 x 0.10

middle course:

1. 0.74 x 0.21 x .08
2. 0.74 x 0.18 x 0.09
3 0.74 x 0.20 x 0.06
4. 0.72 x 0.20 x 0.06
5. 0.73 x 0.06 x 0.04

lower course:

1. 0.49 x 0.20 x 0.07
2. 0.50 x 0.20 x 0.05
3. 0.27 x 0.26 x 0.04

This retaining wall was younger than the wall 17657.
