partially excavated in 2012
Discussion: Plaster on S. face of wall F.2533 (N. wall of SP.135 B.80).

(Partially Excavated in 2012):
The very first plaster layer, which touches the wall, seems to be a kind of fixation or preperation layer as it is slightly thicker and more grey than the following layers of plaster. In the eastern part of the wall the layers were thinner, suggesting that it has not been repaired as often as the rest of the wall. Close to the architectural feeature of the niche (U.18985) and the wooden pillar imprint the layers of plaster were slightly thicker and more compact, making them more difficult to remove. The layers themselves were very uniform. No signs (so far) of pigment. We removed 60cm below the horizontal groove to an elevation of about 1009.65 (this number was calculated by looking at section drawing, graphic number 12/403)
2014: 4 plaster samples (s5-s8) taken for geochemical analysis.
Recognition: white plaster (chalk) in several layers (greater than 10)
Definition: on brick wall, boundaries easy to see
Execution: partially excavated by trowel in 2012
Condition: dry, well-preserved
